Why can I
receive email on my forsythcable.com account, but I cannot send
out emails?
The outgoing mail server must have
authentication before emails can be sent out. To accomplish
this, open your Outlook Express Mail. On the toolbar at the top
of the page, click on the option that says "tools." From the
drop down, click on "accounts." Highlight the "forsythcable.com
mail" by clicking on it, and then click on "properties" which is
located in the box on your right. A row of file tabs will
appear, and you will need to click on the "servers" tab. In the
last option for outgoing mail server, a box appears with the
statement "My server requires authentication." Make sure there
is a check mark in the box, if not click on the box and a check
mark will appear. Click "Apply" and then "OK." To activate this
change, exit completely out of Outlook Express. When you
re-enter Outlook, the changes will become effective.
